Kent Gardens has been celebrated as ‘Garden Tourism Destination of the Year’ by the International Garden Tourism Network, and with its gardens reaching the amount of over 180, its clear why.
With many different gardens, you can guess that there is so many things to do that you couldn’t fit it all in one day. With some attractions in the park built by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, known as England’s best gardener who designed over 170 gardens, including Chilham Castle, Leeds Abbey and Ingress Abbey, all located in Kent Gardens.
The ‘Garden of England’, whilst showing off its beautiful views, colours and heritage, is a great spot for a day out just for looking around but also as an educational tour with a family or others. From Hever Castle which was home to Anne Boleyn during her youth, has lasted since around 1462-1539, to Leeds Castle build in 1119, used for Henry VIII’s first wife Catherine of Aragon, there is so much history around these gardens that you couldn’t see it all in a day.
On top of all of this, the gardens have events on during all times of the year, and often donate to charity.
National Trust even have their own recommendations such as Sissinghurst Castle, Ightham Mote and Stoneacre, as just some of their many highlights.
